PIES OF ART

Art may not seem like a daily necessity, but it is.
The sector represents a significant proportion of our employment. From creators to doers, arts and culture provide a good number of people with daily bread on the table. Yet the arts sector has been systematically eroded for decades: artists in all disciplines and people in creative professions are unceremoniously underpaid and subsidies are decreasing. Creative entrepreneurship is right up artists' street, but without a foothold you soon find yourself with your back against the wall.

What art produces?
It has now been scientifically proven that art and culture are invisible, driving forces of renewal and innovation. Without a thriving creative sector, no inspiration drives forward and promotes growth, including economic growth. Art also makes resilient, as it enables people to do something they enjoy and makes people more self-reliant. To top it all off, it is also good for your health. The occasional hefty dose of vitamin C culture does wonders for your resistance. So whether you are a maker or an audience, art enriches.

Art and culture are not everything, but without art and culture, everything is nothing.
To draw attention to the erosion of art and culture, Koen designed and distributed the posters and jumpers below. The posters may be freely downloaded, used and distributed with credit: ©piesofart. The jumpers can be ordered, please inquire about the possibilities.
