For Koen Wilgehof-Sodaar, art is a means and not necessarily the end. His work is diverse in use of materials, style and imagery. Two themes run through all his works: the tension between ideals and reality and the search for compassion and humanity. Koen considers himself a community-based and social artist. His work invites us to examine the role we assign ourselves within society.
Koen and Dees’ studio is located in Den Dolder on the grounds of the Willem Arntsz Hoeve. The studio is in the middle of greenery, overlooking woods and heathland. The Willem Arntsz Hoeve has great historical, cultural and ecological value.
