Hundreds of thousands of people fled and have to go on with nothing. Barely any clothes, no food, no medicine, let alone valuable or emotionally important and precious things. All they have is themselves. Many families have been torn apart. Mother and children are allowed to cross the border: father goes back to defend the country. The chances are considerable that they will never see him again. We cannot and must not leave even these people out in the cold. Helping people on the run requires money, lots of money.

Therefore, Dees and Koen decided to launch a benefit campaign. By selling some paintings as well as organising two concerts, they managed to raise over €7,500 in a short time. An amount that went entirely to the Stichting Samenwerkende Hulporganisaties (GIRO 555).

The attached paintings were made by Koen in response to the invasion of Ukraine and are still for sale.
